I have been a social intelligence practitioner for well over a decade so of course I read this with that lens. As data is already becoming more difficult to ingest into social intelligence platforms and the ever increasing use of video, "Silent Reviews" and versions of them pose another interesting obstacle for organizations that track earned media mentions. (Their own, that of their competitors and across industries.) Are the tools we have available today able to capture all of these silent mentions? If this trend continues with any level of longevity, which I suppose it will, what are the platforms going to do to keep up so brands can also keep up?

Dear Kathleen, thanks for this very important point. Indeed, we've already noticed the collapse of accessible data to work on. Long are the days of Radian6 and a crazy amount of social footprints we could leverage!

Regarding silent reviews and non-text based content, 2 perspectives:

- AI, when well trained, can actually decipher/transcript a lot of great content. To date, I'm not aware of a solution which can scrap all video content, but I know that pilot projects like BBC Redux were already working on them. I guess it'll have to be from the platforms themselves that we could access data

- qual. analysis have never been as important in niche topics. I guess it'll reinforce even more access to professionals like journalists

Cheers!

Bonjour et merci pour cet excellent article. Il résonne avec ce que publiait Jan Blommaert il y a une dizaine d’années : »Enough is enough, the heuristics of superdiversity »

Only just realised that "High Intellectual Potential" was a show on Apple TV France and Amazon Prime in other countries/markets [premium].

Three seasons of all this!

Or were you referring to the real-life "high intellectual potential" / "giftedness" / genius / talent nexus?

Hi Adelaide! Thanks for your precisions. Indeed, I refer to HIP (not HPI, sorry bad translation on my side, I correct now).

Let me know if it all makes sense!!! :)

Thank you, Laurent!

I had wondered if the crime show had possibly gone viral.

Right now I am watching HIERARCHY, which like lots of K-drama has found one of its habitats on TikTok.

Also I remember someone saying: "I have the good potential of a good person"

or "I have the healthy potential of a healthy person"

[as opposed to the concept of damaged or wasted potential - which often comes out when your potential is incongruent with your achievements or your outcomes/what was expected from you at a given point in time and space].

And a lot of people do feel that their High Intellectual Potential was not recognised at a crucial period in their development; or only partially recognised or encouraged.

Or it was steered into too narrow directions.

HPI - the series- is indeed popular in France but mostly among TF1 audience. There's no tremendous hype in social networks TBH. But the topic of HIP is now booming as a lot of doctors have decided to fight back vs HIP hype.

I did not know HIERARCHY, will explore it!!
